Purpose of Use

The JFE Group is taking the following measures to prevent personal information from being compromised, lost, or damaged, and to properly manage other personal data (which includes personal data we have acquired or intend to acquire, as well as data expected to be handled as personal data; the same definition applies hereafter).
(Establishment of the Basic Policy)
- The aforementioned JFE Group Personal Information Protection Policy has been established to ensure the appropriate handling of personal information.
(Establishment of Guidelines for Handling of Personal Data)
- Established internal guidelines that specify handling methods, responsible individuals, and their respective duties at each stage of acquisition, use, storage, provision, deletion. and disposal of personal data.
(Organizational Security Control Measures)
- We have developed an organizational system to manage the handling of personal information and to respond to the occurrence or indication of issues such as information leakage by appointing a Chief Personal Information Officer (the executive officer in charge of the Administrative Department) and Personal Information Managers (the department heads), and establishing the Personal Information Supervisory Department (the Administrative Department) to oversee the handling of personal information.
- A Personal Information Management Ledger documenting details such as the scope and categories of personal data, its purpose of use, storage location, responsible person, and retention period has been created, and verification methods for how the data is handled have also been developed. Company-wide inspections are performed to confirm how personal data is managed and handled by verifying the Personal Information Management Ledger.
- Periodic internal audits are performed to assess compliance with applicable laws and regulations, as well as the proper handling of personal data.
(Personnel Security Control Measures)
- Necessary and appropriate supervision and training are provided to employees to ensure the proper handle personal data.
(Physical Security Control Measures)
- The following security control measures are in place to protect personal data: Within areas where personal data is handled, unauthorized viewing or access is prevented through strategies such as optimized desk arrangements,
- devices (terminals), external storage media, or documents containing personal data are protected from theft or loss,
- when transporting devices (terminals), external storage media, or documents containing personal data, whether outside or within an office, it must be done in a manner that ensures the data is not easily identifiable, and
- disposal and/or deletion of devices (servers and terminals), external storage media, or documents containing personal data are conducted using methods that make recovery impossible or difficult.
(Technical Security Control Measures)
- We have implemented access controls on information systems that handle personal information databases to limit the employees who can use the systems and the scope of personal data that can be handled to the extent necessary for business.
- We identify and authenticate users accessing the information systems that handle personal information through methods such as user IDs and passwords.
- We have implemented a system to protect information systems that handle personal information from unauthorized external access and malicious software.
- We take measures to prevent data leakage and other incidents associated with the use of the information systems.
(Assessment of the External Environment)
- When handling personal information in a foreign country, we regularly collect and analyze information regarding the country's personal information protection system, and then implement safety control measures accordingly.
